Knowledge/Experience

• Honours degree 2:2 or above (or equivalent); this should have significant elements directly related to the subject applied for. If degree subject is not fully in the subject applied for, but applicant holds an A level in the subject and can demonstrate relevant subject experience, applicant may be considered.

• GCSE English and Maths Grade 4(C) or above (or equivalents) + for Science applicants: GCSE Science or GCSE Biology&/or Chemistry &/or Physics Grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent)

• A good understanding of current issues in education

School Experience

Whilst you do not need to have school experience to apply for teaching training, we recommend applicants try to obtain some. It will give you an insight into the latest classroom practises & how your subject is taught, as well as valuable experiences to refer to during interview.

Standard Conditions of an offer following an interview

Should you receive a conditional offer from us following interview, standard conditions to be met by all applicants are to obtain Enhanced DBS clearance, provide original qualification certificates (degree & GCSE Maths/English) for verification and to complete a health questionnaire to check you have the health and physical capacity to undertake teacher training.
